Bought to replace out old one, same model and use all the tiers now on one pan, fantastic for doing loads of veg and meat at the same time.Quality with a nice finish.
Another love it item. I already bought a large source pan of the same brand which I have been really impressed with. This steamer is the same diameter as the pan and thus all parts are interchangeable, which is very handy. It is a decent size and holds enough water to steam all your veg without the risk of boiling dry (which I have done on my smaller steamer quite a few times). The quality feels great and I cannot off any negatives, thus I am happy to give this 5 stars.I will be replacing all of my source pans with this brand over the coming months. Love them.
For the price you can't go wrong. You get 3 pieces of stainless steel, it seems good quality. I have got some niggles with it but they are minor. Like the sections wobble if you press on a side of the pot but they do sit snuggly. I think it's just the tapered edges that makes it able to slide up and down a bit instead of sitting rock solid in the base. The lid is fine, no issues there, someone said the lid would sputter but no issue with the pot I got. I looked at several pots. This one is suitable for all hobs and is oven safe to 240 degrees C. That already shows it is good quality, hardly any of the cheaper pots are made as well. It also has a 3mm base, others I was looking at had a 1mm base. I don't really know what the difference is but it boils a pot of water better than my old pot so the base is excellent. It did make a weird cracking noise when I had it on the hob without any water in. You aren't really meant to do that, it makes the steel oxidize which has already happened on the bottom but this happens with all my pots on gas hobs. I don't think the cracking noise when it gets too hot is an issue. It does seem to be a superior base, heats up faster. Not even sure I should add the cracking noise part, I'm sure it was just wearing itself in on the first boil. It sounds strange reading it but it was just a bit of expanding metal sound, I was just surprised hearing it but you shouldn't overheat it anyway which I was probably doing. The handles do get hot when the gas is on full but they do also cool down very fast if gas is turned down for a bit. All my handles get hot, at least they won't melt. Like said for the price I am really pleased with the pot quality and that it will save a bit of gas cooking my rice a bit faster in future.
